In Ghana’s 55-man provisional squad for the 2023 Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations, Black Stars coach Chris Hughton has selected 11 Ghana Premier League players.
A list from CAF shows that the coach in fact picked 11 players, five of whom are from Medeama SC, the current league champions, despite widespread rumors that just five stars from the Ghana Premier League were chosen.
Together with Benjamin Asare and Emmanuel Antwi of the Great Olympics, Richmond Lamptey of Asante Kotoko has also been named. The others are Razack Simpson of Nations FC, John Antwi and Godfred Atuahene of Dreams FC.
