The Eastern Region has advanced to the final of the 2024 KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship after a dramatic 3-1 victory over the Volta Region in a penalty shootout.
After a gripping 90 minutes that ended in a 0-0 draw, Volta Region goalkeeper Bless Amerdorme stood out with several crucial saves, keeping his team in contention. Despite his heroics, Eastern Region displayed greater precision and composure during the penalty shootout, securing their place in the final.
They will face the Western Region in the final, a repeat of their group stage match where Eastern Region emerged victorious with a 1-0 win. The final is set to take place on Thursday, August 8.
Earlier in the day, the Volta Region will compete against the Northern Region in the third-place playoff. The tournament, which is being broadcast live on multiple platforms, seeks to scout and develop emerging football talent for Ghana’s future.
