Ghanaian roots reggae artist Julius Amua-Sekyi, popularly known as Shasha Marley, has shared the inspiration behind his recent song, ‘Spintex Road Traffic Jam’.
‘Spintex Road Traffic Jam’ is a motivational song that informs the public about the government’s failure to address the nation’s traffic problem.
In Ghana, traffic jams are bad in the country’s capital, Accra, particularly on the streets of Spintex, an elite residential neighborhood.
“I almost lost my daughter on the Spintex Road because I was taking her to the hospital; fortunately, she survived,” he said.
He mentioned that he had lived in the residence for a long time, and the traffic jam in Spintex is a national concern.
“Because I’ve lived there for so long, I’m using the Spintex Road as a case study to send my message across to the authorities in charge of the roads and highways to make sure that we have a free flow of traffic.”.
With his amazing yet well-chosen words, the reggae legend has decided to push this song to the relevant authorities.
