FIFA internal sources claim that “several French football leaders” asked the world governing body to look into Ernest Nuamah’s transfer to Lyon.
This summer, Molenbeek purchased the 19-year-old Ghanaian from Nordsjaelland for €25m before transferring him to OL.
According to L’Équipe, the DNCG, which oversees transfers and the Rhone club’s wages, had already granted Lyon leaders’ request. FIFA approved of the player’s move to the Belgian federation as well.
However, the football governing body should shortly release “follow-up information” to clarify the issue in response to pressure from a few French clubs.
