Fight Night 4 of the Ghana Professional Boxing League began with a wild flyweight contest between Emmanuel Mawuli of the Charles Quartey Boxing Foundation and Ishmael Commey of the Ghana Prisons Service. After six rounds of action, young Emmanuel Mawuli emerged as the victor, maintaining his perfect record of three wins after three fights.
In the second bout of the night, a super middleweight contest between Shakul Samed of the Akotoku Boxing Gym and Francis Mensah of the Sea View Boxing Gym. Shakul, the younger brother of Bastir Samed, began the bout all guns blazing, landing heavy punches on his opponent. The Akotoku young boxer delivered a TKO on Mensah after 2 minutes and 32 seconds in round 1.
Isaac Neequaye of the Bronx Gym went a short distance with Shadrach Kofi of Palm Springs Gym in the welterweight contest, delivering a round 2 TKO on his opponent.
Student of Accra Aca Senior High, Cann Neequaye was unmatchable for Lookman Bashiru in a super bantamweight contest as the young hard hitter forced a TKO out of his opponent at the end of the third round.
The fifth bout of the night saw Faho Mensah defeat Patrick Cudjoe at the end of six rounds of dominant boxing by the winner. Faho Mensah promised his fans he’ll perform better in his next fight, revealing he wasn’t well prepared for the Fight Night 4 super welterweight encounter with his opponent.
Undoubtedly the bout that many were there to witness was between Vandorf Ocran of the Ghana Armed Forces and Godwin Tetteh of Bridge Gym. Both boxers went at each other with hard swift punches. The bout after 6 rounds was adjudged to be a draw by the judges, much to the displeasure of the spectators as many felt Godwin Tetteh should’ve won.
Elvis Ahorgah, who is scheduled to fight in the Czech Republic later came toe-to-toe with Atopika Amogle of the Seconds Gym. Ahorgah made light work of Atopika, forcing the referee to end the bout in round 1.
Top Ghanaian musicians including Sarkodie, Kofi Kinaata, and Donzy were at the Bukom Boxing Arena to witness the thrilling encounters of the night.
Local favorite Adotey Tetor performed some his hits to entertain the crowd at the packed arena.
